Many people have the misconception that the fire station closest to them is the only station from which they can benefit. This could not be further from the truth. The fire department has a dedicated response assigned for every type of incident. Throughout the city of Jeffersonville, the fire department operates out of four firehouses. In the case of a reported fire or fire alarm, the assigned initial apparatus response would be : 1 Battalion Chief, 2 engines, and 1 Quint with 105ft aerial ladder, all responding from multiple stations.  There are also, no less than 3 firefighters on every apparatus.
