"500" 1928 Segrave
Built originally for Edcouch, Texas, the 1928 Seagrave's purchase was turned down, and they never took delivery. The new truck was then taken to the Chicago's World Fair 1933-1934 "Century of Progress International Exhibition". It was purchased by the City of Jeffersonville in 1937, and used as a front line pumper for approximately 10 years. It was then used as a reserve until 1953, when the city purchased 2 new 1953 Segraves (1 pumper, 1 Quad). In 1962 he city repainted the old "500". In 1974 it was taken to the Childrens Museum in Indianapolis, and was on display until 1982. In Janurary 1984, the city brought back "500" to Jeffersonville and with the help of contributors and fire department personnel it has been completely refurbished
